Stained Glass Notebook
Introducing the Stained Glass Notebook from Terra Lusa, inspired by the stunning stained glass doors of the Arab Room in the Palácio da Bolsa in Oporto. The Arab Room, a jewel of the palace, took 18 years to complete and was crafted entirely by Portuguese artists. The decorative forms are made of plaster and all the yellow is gold leaf, with Arabian inscriptions repeated throughout the walls.
The glass doors, divided into three by Arabian inscriptions, were hand-painted and copied from the Koran. The architect chose this rich Arabian style to showcase the economic power of Porto’s 19th-century businessmen, who now had a richly decorated room for official receptions. This room also reflects the romanticism of the time, with its taste for exotic and artistic shapes.
The Stained Glass Notebook is part of Terra Lusa’s collection of products that pay tribute to Portuguese Cultural Heritage, with each item representing 800 years of history, culture, and tradition. The collection includes notebooks, wrist watches, fans, eco bags, mini umbrellas, glasses cases, microfibre cloths, and adjustable book covers, all divided into themes of Portuguese roots and designed with quality and contemporary design in mind. Celebrate Portugal’s rich artistic heritage with the Stained Glass Notebook.
